At Shoot North Idaho, our Defensive Carbine Training is designed to take you from the fundamentals of rifle handling to high-level defensive tactics. Whether you’re new to carbines or looking to refine advanced skills, our structured training will help you develop precision, control, and defensive readiness.

What Is The Difference Between A Rifle & A Carbine?

A “carbine” is essentially a shorter, more compact version of a rifle. Meaning the primary difference is the length of the barrel, with a carbine typically having a significantly shorter barrel than a standard rifle, usually considered to be under 20 inches long. This shorter barrel makes a carbine more maneuverable but can slightly reduce its effective range.
